The assets should be divided into four parts as follows; on one part should be spent for the expenditure of oneself and others, two parts should be extended for one’s business, and another one part should be kept for the hard time. The means of Four Consumption Division is related to other principles, they are Ditthadhammikattha 4 i.e. virtues conductive to benefits in the present, Iddhipada 4 i.e. basis for success, Cakka 4 i.e. virtues wheeling one to prosperity, Kamabhogi 6 i.e. enjoyers of sensual pleasures, Bhoga-adiya i.e. uses of possessions, Kula-ciratthiti-dhamma 4 i.e. reasons for lastingness of a wealthy family, Tangkanikapaccavekkhana 4 i.e. ideas to be constantly reviewed, Papanikadhamma 3 i.e. qualities of a successful businessman, Vanijja 5 i.e. trades which should not be plied by a lay disciple, and Apayamukha 6 i.e. causes of ruin. And the goal of Four Consumption Division has got two levels, comprising 1) individual level i.e. the stable life, and 2) social level i.e. living in peace.

The philosophy of Sufficiency Economy is bestowed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej to Thai people, concerning with moderation, reasonableness, and self-immunity. The means of the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy is to manage the soil and water into several parts, i.e. for making fish pond, for growing rice, for crops, and for human lodging and animal keeping. The goal of philosophy of Sufficiency Economy has got three levels, comprising 1) individual level i.e. knowing moderation for self and family 2) social level i.e. helping each other to develop society, and 3) national level i.e. every economic part of society having cooperation to firmly develop economics.

Comparison the principle of Four Consumption Division to the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy in three aspects; to the aspect of principle, it is found that they have got their similarity in asset management for the benefit of basic way of life; to the aspect of means, it is found that they are different i.e. the Four Consumption Division has to be applied with other suitable Dhammas but Sufficiency Economy has to be materialized in practice; to the aspect of goal, it is found that they are similar for the stability of life, for knowing, and for freedom. Therefore, it can be summarized that both principle of Four Consumption Division and the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy have got difference in means but similarity in principle and goal.
